Mobile Food Drop
Mobile food drops are being provided to Douglas County residents by United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties, Community Impact Coalition and North Country Food Bank. Bring your own boxes and baskets to carry the food. These are located at New Life Christian Church, 1910 Highway 27 East, Alexandria. The date of the next food drops is Wed., March 17th noon - 3:00 PM or until food is gone. For more information call United Way at 320-763-4840.
Free Community Breakfasts
The Alexandria United Methodist Church, 2210 6th Avenue East, offers a free community pancake and sausage breakfast the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. For more information or if you need transportation, you may request a ride to and from the breakfast by calling the church at 320-763-4624. Please schedule rides for the Saturday breakfast before 10:00 AM on the Friday before the breakfast. The 2010 dates are: March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13 and December 11. Free Tax Assistance

Alexandria Tax Clinic - Offered on Mondays and Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Marion Building, 700 Cedar Street. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-492-4805. This service is available to customers who earn $40,000 or less per year.
Battle Lake - Offered on Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Battle Lake Senior Citizens Center, 209 W. Main St. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-495-2460.
Breckenridge - Offered on Mondays 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Breckenridge Public Library, 205 N. 7th St. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-643-2113.
Detroit Lakes - Offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:40 AM to 3:30 PM at Detroit Lakes Mahube office, 1125 W. Fergus Falls - Offered on Mondays and Tuesdays 8:15 AM to noon at Fergus Falls Senior Center, 115 W. Lincoln Ave. and on Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at Fergus Falls Westridge Mall, 2001 W. Lincoln. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-736-6842.
Mahnomen - Offered on Mondays 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Mahube's Mahnomen office, 118 W. Madison Ave. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-935-5022.
Moorhead - Offered on Tuesday and Thursdays from 5 PM - 9 PM (last appointment at 8 PM) at the Lakes & Prairies Community Action Family Service Center site, 715 11th St. N, Suite 402. Call 218-299-7000 for an appointment. This service is available to families with household income of $48,000 or less or singles with an income of $30,000 or less.
New York Mills - Offered on Tuesdays noon to 4:00 PM at Otter Tail-Wadena Community Action Council, 109 S. Walker Ave. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 218-385-2900.

Otter Tail County FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Program
United Way of Otter Tail County offers the FamilyWize prescription discount program to residents of Otter Tail County. The discount card enables residents to receive discounted pricing on prescriptions at participating pharmacies (Wal-Mart, Pamida, K-Mart, SunMart and Seip Drug). The average savings is 34%. The discount cards are available at the United Way office or you can print one from the FamilyWize website.
Car Seat Clinics
Certified child passenger safety technicians are available to inspect car seats and provide tips on proper installation and use. These are available:
Fergus Falls: Thursday, March 11th 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Permanent Family Resource Center, 1220 N. Tower Road, Suite 101, Fergus Falls. Call 218-998-3400 to register.
Detroit Lakes: This is on-going. To arrange call Jennifer Booge at 1-800-818-9296.
Wadena: Tri-County Hospital front entrance on the 2nd Sunday of each month noon - 2 PM. A certified child passenger safety technician will be on hand to inspect care seats and provide tips on proper installation and use. Seats will be replaced as needed. For more information 218-632-8781.
Dental Outreach Clinics
Dental outreach clinics are designed to provide dental services to children between the ages of 2 and 12 years of age. Dental health staff are available to provide all dental services for children covered by Minnesota Health Care Programs. Appointments can be made by calling toll free 888-683-1038 Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:00. Upcoming clinics are:

Group Work Camp
West Central MN Community Action will be hosting Group Work Camp in Morris, MN this summer. Youth and adults from around the US will spend one week in communities within 30 miles of Morris doing hands-on home repair projects, such as house painting, for elderly, disabled and those of modest incomes. Free Children's Check-Ups
Douglas County Public Health is providing free check-ups for children birth to pre-kindergarten in Douglas County for those without insurance or whose insurance does not pay for well-child care. For an appointment or more information, call 320-763-6062 (Patty) or 320-763-3064 (Sue).
Baby Bin Available in Perham
This program helps Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) families by providing a free package of diapers one month and the following month a free package of baby wipes, baby wash and baby lotion. The program is open the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM at Perham Community Church, 44664 440th Street, Perham.
